All fish are different. Because of this, they do not all live in the same kind of waters. Fish tolerate different environmental conditions. Some of these include differing levels of salt, amounts of oxygen, types and amounts of food, water temperature, and hiding areas. The most distinguishing element of fish is salt. Some fish do not live in areas where there is a lot of salt. On the other hand, some fish need salt to survive. There are also some types of fish that can live in both saltwater and freshwater.    Freshwater ponds, reservoirs, and rivers contain significantly less salt than the ocean. North America has a majority of freshwater bodies. Some of the fish that you will find in these freshwater bodies are the bluegill, carp, catfish, crappie, and bass. In contrast, many species of fish live in the ocean's salty water. Thanks to their kidneys, these fish are able to keep the proper balance of salt in their body. The more popular saltwater fish are the bluefish, cod, sea trout, tuna, and flounder.    Another factor that weighs heavily on where you will find certain fish is oxygen. All fish must have a certain level of oxygen to survive. Some fish, such as carp, survive on less oxygen than fish like trout. The living plants within a lake or stream directly affect the amount of oxygen in the water. They add oxygen to the water through photosynthesis. This process uses sunlight to make food. Oxygen also makes its way into water from the surrounding air.   You will find certain fish in certain bodies of water based on what kind of food is there. It is based on the amount and type of food available in a setting. All fish need to eat, so the amount of competition with other fish is a factor that determines which fish will be in certain areas.    Fish prefer different water temperatures. Some fish are flexible. They have the ability to live in a wide range of temperatures. Other fish, however, need either cold or warm water to survive. Trout is an example of this. You will only find trout in cold water. Your best bet for finding a certain type of fish is to learn about the type of water it prefers. They are most often found in water that is close to their preferred temperature.

We, as humans, can control one factor when it comes to where fish live. Water quality often determines where a fish will live and we have the means to ensure a high level of water quality. All fish must have water that has adequate levels of oxygen. Good-quality water will obviously support more species of fish than water that is polluted. Water that is stagnant, polluted, or lacking adequate oxygen simply cannot support a large group of fish. While some fish, such as carp, live in water that is not very clean, most fish need a high quality of water in order to survive.    Discovering the places where fish live is the first step to successful fishing. Several factors come into play when looking for a fish's habitat. Some of these are the levels of salt and oxygen found in water. Another factor is the temperature of the water. All fish are different. Because of this, it benefits you, the angler, to take the time necessary to find the bodies of water in which they live.     Word count: 639

"Picking The Right Boat"

Image via Wikipedia

There are 2 questions that should be considered when selecting the best ship : "What will be the fishing for?" and "where will the fishing activities be?" always have a look for the indicators of quality check the carpet and the compartments - they may be plastic, metal or fiberglass.

Glance at the little but crucial stuff like the thousand GPH bilge pump, the 6 gauge wiring rather than 10 or 8 that's because heavier wires gives more power from the battery up to the trolling motor. There's 5 Star Advantage that ranger dealers regularly talk to their clients : Quality, Safety, Creativity , Performance, and value. Below is an inventory of must have things when purchasing your first ship. Tow Auto - This is one of the most significant piece of your hardware, guaranteed which has the rating to get things done like loading up to 3500 lbs. Of weight that would simply pull the ship up the hills and mountainous treks. Bass Boats - For first timers, consider a second hand ship. This can be a trial - error stage where fishing abilities can be tested. Consider a bigger ship, which is about nineteen feet with twenty to thirty miles speed for bigger bodies of water. Aluminum - In smaller lakes, a 16-18 foot aluminium boat is a sensible choice. It is less expensive than fiberglass and more forgiving of bangs, running up into shallows and hitting stumps and rocks. The sole disadvantage is that it rides rougher even with the tiniest winds. Fiberglass - This two-stroke engine is way more pricey which could cost from $20,000 to $50,000. The nice thing with this ship is that it might handle larger, rougher water and still give you a smooth ride.

Brand spanking new vs 2nd Hand - Purchasing a second hand ship is not just less expensive but holds their worth longer and better. The downside is that you can possibly inherit someone else's difficulties. During casual inspection, outboard engines issues aren't easily identified. The best move to make is bring somebody you trust with you to inspect a possible ship or buy from somebody you know instead.

Handling the Boat - hear the pitch change when trimming down. Though it'll be terribly complicated for noobs like attempting to launch and retrieve the ship backing it down the ramp. Never worry, because everybody passed that stage and there is no ship owner that's not ready to help a 1st timer learn. Often all that it takes is just four hours to learn the fundamentals. Purchasing a dreamboat is terribly exciting. It isn't the ship that truly matters but the experiences that come with fishing.

According to the sites that i've read you're gonna get the rod from nina and galen's house, but what if nina died already does that means i can't get the fishing rod anymore?please help,

give galen lots and lots of snelts(? check somewhere else to make sure) and go into his new house at 10 in the morning(? check this too)

I'd like to buy my dad a few nice lures for fishing the inlets and bays around Tampa in Feb. I'm looking for good all-around lures. We normally fish fresh water so I have ideas of what will work, but I would like advice on what works best. Interested in buying a well-rounded set so he can try a variety of different situations.

Plus, if you know of any good spots around Bradenton Beach or Sarasota Bay that would be helpful. We don't have the proper equipment to travel far off-shore, so we tend to stay close to shore.

Thank you.

Topwater lures- (You need to know the "walk the dog" retrieve to properly fish the first 2 suggested Topwaters)

1. Floating Bagley Jumping Mullet- http://www.basspro.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Product_10151_-1_10001_8494_151004002_151000000_151004000_151-4-2

2. Heddon Saltwater Spook Jr- http://www.basspro.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Product_10151_-1_10001_27430_151004002_151000000_151004000_151-4-2

Cranks-

1. Mirrolure Mirrodine (suspender) Green back/pogy color- http://www.basspro.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Product_10151_-1_10001_89232_151004002_151000000_151004000_151-4-2

2. Rapala Saltwater Husky Jerk OR X-Rap Saltwater - http://www.rapala.com/products/luresdetail.cfm?modelName=x-rap_saltwater&freshorsalt=Salt

Spoons-

1. Gold Spoon with Chartreuse curly-tail as a trailer- http://www.basspro.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Product_10151_-1_10001_59492____SearchResults

The above lures have a "place and time" where they would work well. However, most serious Florida anglers would agree that the Jig reins supreme. Jigs have many different configurations and are the most versatile lure for any saltwater fishing. Here are some configurations that are popular- Jig/Soft Plastic, Jig/Live Shrimp, Jig/Live Finger Mullet, Jig/Mud-minnow, Etc.

Needless to say, a good variety of jigs in different sizes, (1/4 OZ - 3/4 OZ), AND colors ( Chartreuse, White, Red, Dark Green), would be the "cheapest" and most "productive" lure you could purchase.

Other popular Inshore lures??

1. Berkley Saltwater Gulp Jerkshad (rig this with a 5/0 EWG Offset hook)- http://www.basspro.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Product_10151_-1_10001_75761____SearchResults

2. Berkley Saltwater Shrimp- http://www.basspro.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Product_10151_-1_10001_97168____SearchResults

You may want to purchase him some Popping Corks and some good Saltwater Attractant-

P-cork- http://www.basspro.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Product_10151_-1_10001_10209363____SearchResults

Attractant- http://www.basspro.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Product_10151_-1_10001_59599____SearchResults

Popping Corks work esp well in conjunction with either a Jig/Live Shrimp or Jig/Jerkshad. Find a 8-10 FT deepwater weededge or large oyster bed and begin slowly working it with a Popping Cork. Fishing most of the Tampa Bay area is a "no-brainer". Where you find current, baitfish schools, oyster beds or Weedbeds you will find Reds, Trout, Snook, and Flounder. If you fish the appropriate tide, with the appropriate light levels you will see some good action. "Generally" LOW tide is going to be the easiest time to find fish because baitfish schools and Gamefish are more "concentrated" at that time.
