Question by : The most stupid... Ridiculous, and annoying fishing question I have yet to ask...?
I know the answer to the question I'm about to ask, BUT I want an opinion on some thing.

Now then... My father and I went fishing awhile back, I was using my chartreuse culprit spinner bait. NOW here's where it gets stupid. I'm retrieving my spinner bait (like any idiot would when using lures) now. My Dad tells me "Quit moving it! your supposed to leave it nonetheless if not the fish won't see it!" He tells me I have to leave it nonetheless. I KNOW that I have to move it, I'm telling him "No dad your incorrect, You are thinking of bait. NOT lures." Clearly lures (AKA artificial bait) Has to keep moving (or moving with pausing in some techniques) You want lures to be lively, appealing "alive" if you will.

Now then BAIT is a entire various story. Bait alone will sit there and disintegrate in the water, wait for a bite. LURES are action movement for either appealing to the fish, getting a territorial provoked or aggrsive strike, hunger strike... And so on. blah blah blah.

However he continues to tell me. ( No no no no, you do not know what your performing. ah whatever pft If you dont want to catch fish then just preserve pulling it out because every time I see you are pulling that stupid lure right out of the water) I personally (truly sorry I know it's disrespect to a partent even if I did not say it) I saw thinking " ARE YOU STUPID?? I know what I'm undertaking if it comes out empty that just means that absolutely nothing bit, or I just wasent doing it right hah" anyway to get to the point here

Naturally I'm fairly confident I'm appropriate... (I don know too many that may possibly agree with him though) but is there some thing seriously wrong with my father that he does not understand that a lure has to be moved??? or is he just damn pigheaded

Thanks
EDIT: Exept reside bait and some dead baits... I meant cut baits and lures like dough should not move otherwise it should move too!
Hey..

Sorry to have gone off like that. I did not mean it like that but... you dont know my dad (not to be rude or something) he IS pigheaded with alot of things. Possibly not fishing, but he is with most every thing else.

He even yells when he thinks he's appropriate and even goes against logic (should have been there that day) he was even sarcastic with me. That's just him though. What do you think about it?
AK

Nah that's fine buddy,,, That would just be running from my difficulties, I suppose all I can do is withstand it. even if I had been to catch fish with a moving lure (because that is the only time he actually came) he would say I just got lucky. Ha, show him a vid? why so he can say those folks are stupid and don't know the initial factor about fishing too, what did they do ta me? anyway thanks for answering. genuinely appriciate it.

That is what I'm saying! oh well I don't believe he will get the concept though that is fine.

Hah funny perceptive on that approach (mr bass...)! I really enjoyed reading it. Yeah extended pauses can be great but you have to get your lure to the appropriate spot dont ya?

I do not feel he is very interested in fishing in the 1st place, sad though you anticipate your father to be the 1 to get you up and be enthusiastic about it. What he implies although is to cast and leave the factor alone till you get one thing (which clearly wont be likely unless it
Oh and no prob about the shout-out, I'll preserve editing that space for stuff like that. kinda like an update panel.but preserve the rest of the post unchanged (the above component)

Bruce listen buddy my mom who knows small about fishing tells me that too just clarify to them that those are the kind of lures that you have to reel in possibly show him a video on YouTube he's not pigheaded he's just inexperienced with lures I know your fairly new to fishing but I do not know about your dad so just attempt explaining to him instead of arguing perhaps if you land a fish he'll be convinced inside but say you just had good luck well tight lines wish you the best of luck hope you land 1 of those carp

Edit: well Bruce if your dads truly like that I guess all you can do is withstand him and not take him fishing with you anymore or perhaps go out and talk with him and tell him that you didn't like the way he acted back when you guys had been fishing perhaps show him a YouTube video like I stated you also can (but is not advised) Bruce your 18 you can get a job and move out or go to college if your dad is truly that bad but once again I don't advocate it you put up with him for 18 years so leaving now wont make a large difference but you really should attempt telling your mom there is some individuals that only listen to what their wife's say but your best bet would be to just talk with him and tell him you don't like the way he takes issues it is not that challenging I've talked with my dad about stuff too if you did not form a close bond with him throughout the years do it now possibly that's why he's pig headed that's all I have to say and I have read your page nice thanks for the shout out we should actually go fishing one day together

"Fishes for converts" and "lures converts" mean just about the same. I see no difference whatsoever.
