I go bait fishing alot, but i have just recently started. I havn't got my own rod yet so i was looking it up in a catalouge. Theres so many different type of rods:
Coarse
Carp
Pole
Fly - not this one -
Sea
I was wondering if maybe Coarse or something could be a bait rod -
Please help as soon as possible
There are so many but theres no bait rod. What rod could you use

Fly
Pole

Planning a vacation where to go where to go I know the guys want to go deep sea fishing so I'll plan the trip around that. We went last year to some deep sea fishing place in Panama paid $800 for a full day and no one caught anything it was awful and they would not refund our money!
Well the popular answer seems to be the Keys. I'm going to agree, the reason is because it's versatile you can grouper fish 1 mile off land in 30 ft of water, dolphin fish 5 miles from land in 200ft of water or go a little further and get some big boys. It's a beautiful area w/ plenty of charter choices. Other choices include Tampa bay area, New Symrna beach, Jacksonville and just about any other coastal city. You will find deeper water quicker on the Atl. side but there are some beautiful places that get overlooked on the west coast of Fl.

I'm going fishing for the first time, not sure where to get a rod from, what type of rod to get, or how much to spend. Should i get the cheapest one from wal-mart or is that a bad idea.
If you are just starting out, get yourself a Zebco 303, or 33 Classic combo (includes the rod and reel) at WalMart. The reel will be pre-spooled with line. It's easy to cast and has caught more fish than any other reel out there. It will set you back about $25. Get some small snap swivels, too; tie one on your line and you won't have to mess with re-tying lures - you just snap a new lure on. You can even pick up some hooks pre-tied with a monofilament leader if you are going to fish with nightcrawlers or minnows.
The salesperson at WalMart will be able to set you up, and it won't cost you much. Simplicity is best. Have fun!

most sea baits that are used can be frozen but very few baits can be refrozen.
anything that is fresh can be frozen down if not used but obviously won,t be as good when it is defrosted or alive.
fresh caught mackerel that hasn,t been used is great frozen down as quick as poss, as is fresh mussell. these are just bunged in as they are, (shuck the mussell down first )
all worms are best put in dry paper and rolled up, about 10/15 in a packet) and frozen from there.
peelers are best de-lunged before freezing
without fresh bait from a kayak its a good idea to troll for pollack cos you can get a nice slow speed, about 2/3 knots.
try working a shad on a light weighted long line as well.
